Tales From The Farm
Farming remains one of the most dangerous occupations in America. Many of those risks are misunderstood, underestimated, or accepted as routine, until a single decision, a moment of distraction, or an unexpected element comes into play and changes everything. Tales From The Farm exists to share real stories and hard lessons, so others may recognize the danger before it’s too late.
Why These Stories Matter
I grew up working on a diversified family farm, where routine jobs were part of everyday life, and where lessons were taught plainly and enforced by results. When I made errors in judgment, ignored instructions, or thought I knew a better way, the consequences were real. I learned quickly that cutting corners did not just risk bad outcomes, but serious harm, and I was corrected accordingly. Those lessons were not gentle, but they were rooted in hard-earned wisdom I did not yet possess.
Over the years, I’ve seen how familiarity can dull caution, and how a single overlooked detail can change lives forever. Tales From The Farm exists to honor those who paid that price, to learn from the decisions they made, and to pass those lessons forward. These stories are shared not to assign blame, but to serve the next generation and those still mentoring them as a reminder to recognize danger before the X-factor takes over.
