Our Mission
Most serious farm accidents are never heard beyond a small circle—family, neighbors, and the local community. In many cases, the lessons they carry stop there.
Tales From The Farm exists to carry those lessons beyond county lines.
By sharing real stories from across the country, this platform allows a farmer in one part of the nation to learn from what happened in another—connecting shared experiences across regions and types of work.
Survivor Stories are told in the words of those who lived through them.
Tales From The Grave give a voice to those who can no longer speak for themselves.
Together, these accounts make it possible to recognize risks, relate across regions, and approach the work with greater awareness.
About Us
Tales From The Farm was created to share real stories from real people, so the lessons they carry are not lost.
My Background
I grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in Indiana, where I began working at a young age and learned firsthand how quickly routine work can turn dangerous.
Over the years, I worked in agriculture, logging, construction, and excavation, gaining experience with heavy equipment and safety practices in high-risk environments. I was trained in OSHA standards and spent several years as a crew leader, responsible for both production and safety.

Why This Site Exists
Farm accidents don’t just happen to the inexperienced. In many cases, they involve those who have spent a lifetime doing the work.
Tales From The Farm exists to share these stories, not to assign blame, but to understand what happened and pass along the lessons that were learned too late.
How These Stories Are Shared
Survivor Stories and Near Misses are told in the words of those who experienced them. They are not rewritten or edited, allowing each person’s perspective to remain intact.
Tales From The Grave are written accounts of fatal accidents, created to give a voice to those who can no longer speak for themselves while preserving the lessons they left behind.
